FOODS TO MAKE METABOLISM GOOD

Our body is an engine which needs good fuel to make long and happy life. If we feed our body with good meals and take good care of it, our body will get its reward.

Metabolism is body capacity to burn calories from the food we eat. It varies from person to person. Higher the rate, faster we can burn our calories and gain perfect body shape and vice-versa. It depends on age, genetics, profession, working schedule etc. We cannot change these factors but can include foods that helps to speed up metabolism in many forms.

By boosting metabolic rate, people can shed excess of their weight and reduces chances of obesity and other serious health diseases.

1. B-vitamin boost house: – Include B1(thiamine), B2(riboflavin), B3(niacin), B6(Pyridoxine), B12, folate in your daily diet. All are needed for processing of proteins, carbohydrates and fats which ensures that our body uses these nutrients as energy rather than storing them as fat.

  • Egg
  • Banana
  • Spinach
  • Fruits such as apple, citrus fruits, grapes etc.
  • Peanut butter

  • Peas
  • Dairy products
  • Whole grain foods such as barley, rice etc.

2) Apricots: – Light golden one with mix of red is a fruit packed with iron. Eat 2-3 fresh apricot per day is good to meet iron demands.

3) Broccoli: – It is one of my kiddoo favourite veggies, she used to pick it in market along with her grandfather. It is also best to keep it in metabolism -boosting department as it is good source of calcium. It is used to increase speed of fat metabolism. So, I suggest to eat greens in meals of the day.

4) Include pulses variety: – Always prefer to have one bowl of dal in your plate at lunch and dinner timings. Try to keep different legumes and lentils, chickpea(chole), kidney beans(rajma), peas, peanuts in your meal schedule.
They are high in protein content which make our body to burn more calories to digest them and also helps to keep us fuller for long duration which prevents overeating.
Legumes contain good amount of soluble and dietary fibre which all together increase metabolism speed.

5) Eggs: – In this stress world it is highly needed to maintain our body with few eggs in daily life menu in any form like egg bhurji, egg omelettes, boiled egg, stuffed egg paranthas or sandwich. It is an important source of protein, B -vitamin and low in calorie count.

6) Cruciferous vegetables: – Vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower high in fibre and water content which speeds up body capacity to burn fat. They are rich in vitamin C, B and calcium.

7) Oats: – It is best in every aspect as it is loaded with fibre and also keep glucose level under control in diabetic persons. It can be eaten in many ways like oats chapatti, oats chilla, uthappam etc. So always include oats in your plate.

8) Citrus fruits: – Market is full of oranges so go and grab them as they are full of anti-oxidants and rich in vitamin C which makes our digestion good and help to metabolise fat faster.

9) Spices -booster: – There are so many spices available in our kitchen only which can take our metabolism to next level.

  • Cinnamon-It helps to satisfy our sweetness hunger by balancing our blood sugar and helps to revive body metabolism. It can be taken in powder or in stick form.


    It is best to drink cinnamon water in night at least half an hour before bed

  • Include ginger and chilli pepper in your food chart.

10) Apple: – An apple a day keeps your waist line happy. It helps to detoxify body and contain pectin fibre that aids in digestion. It is one of best go and grab type of snack item.

11) Almonds: – It has good amount of protein and healthy fatty acids which shoots up metabolism rate. It can be eaten as whole or spread almond butter on raw fruits, veggies or in toast form.

12) Lemons: – This yellow sunshine fruit is natural detoxifier and we prefer to add lemon juice in dals, salad etc. Lemon ginger detox water is a great start of your happy morning.

13) Spinach: – It is low in calorie and high in fibre and superpower house of vitamins, iron and zinc. It is healthy start to include spinach also as weight loss menu.

14) Fennel seeds(saunf): – Saunf is one of my favourite kitchen ingredients and its sweet and refreshing taste is super awesome. Fennel seeds water is great to kick start our metabolism and it control our hunger attack.

There are many other foods like cucumber, berries, include water, nuts and seeds helps to gear our metabolism speed.
Our goal should be to eat good, fresh and real food to maintain healthy life. Try to include above mentioned metabolism-boosting foods in your grocery ingredients list items. Brightly coloured fruits and vibrant greens is our health motto.
