TRI-COLOR RICE PLATE

by Dr. Leena Singla
Independence Day is around the corner, so let’s all geared up in the celebrations with my tri –color recipe section this time on that auspicious day. I choose it to symbolize our national flag, so that all can easily co-relate with it in a creative way.
India would be celebrating 75th Independence Day on 15th August 2021 with diversity in culture, foods, festivals, languages.
What come in my mind as this day starts to approach are-
Patriotic songs, dances in tri-color dresses, flag hosting in school assembly, National Anthem, speech by Principals enlighten kids about the importance of this day. I remember when I was child to watch movies and programs related to freedom fighters who sacrificed their valuable life to make India free from British rule. It generates feeling of
PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN
Again as you all know I love to quote acrostic poem, so here it is:-

For Green layer:-

  • To make chutney, put coriander and mint leaves, salt, chopped green chili, red chili,

Alternate option-Spinach/Palak puree

  • Just mix this green chutney with rice and put some pistachios over it.

Finally arrange these 3 different color layer of rice in your own style as National flag.
