Holi festival is on the way and celebrating it to the fullest is indeed so much fun. We all are ready with big pichakaree, water balloons, water bucket, vibrant colours, sweets like gunjiyan, bhang, dance, but in all this fun we forgot about our skin, hairs, nails, lips.
Holi can be also played with gulal, flowers, home-made organic colours, but still in majority of places it is played with chemical-filled colours which can cause
- Redness in eyes
- Dry skin and frizzy hairs
- Rough hair, loss of natural texture and shine vanish out.

Being a little precautious take us a long way
Precautionary tips
-
Oil is best friend
Oiling hair and body is one of the best funda, before heading out to go have fun with friends. We can use almond/coconut oil/amla oil and massage gently from scalp to roots before one day of Holi, so that it forms a protective layer on the hair strands and less colour is absorbed on next day.
Oil is the basic food for our hair and it gives nourishment and double benefits if we apply it before Holi. Firstly, oiling make us to remove Holi colours easily later and we don’t need to struggle and secondly, it forms a shield from germs and dust.
The oiler your hair is the safer it will be
- Brushing your hairs: –
Now you have reached back home after attending colours party, do not rush to take bath immediately. Always brush off dry colours from hair and then wash it with cold water for 10 minutes, so that most of colours can go.
-
Hair shampoos are essentials in our daily life. Always apply curd before shampoo hairs as it aids to remove colours in easier and faster way. You can opt for shampoo according to your hair type. Use organic, natural shampoo with conditioner to clean them as it would go easily with already troubled coloured hairs.
-
Hair masks give deep nourishment, add shine and bring them back to life.
Here I am telling you most easy hair mask which can be prepared in 1 minutes maximum, but its effects are long lasting.
- Apply aloe vera gel on hair roots, ends and leave it for 60 minutes before wash.
SAY ALOE TO SHINY HAIR
Aloe vera gel has high water content which conditions hair naturally and locks nutrition
It can be combined with other ingredients

The sweet melody: –
Here comes my favourite ingredients Yes! Its oats and honey.
They are deadly combination to make nourishing hair mask.
Oats are rich in fibre, zinc and iron and helps to retain its elasticity to prevent hairs breakage.
Honey helps to retain texture and helps to locks its shine as well.
Add a half cup of oats and mix it with 3 tablespoon of honey and apply this amazing mask over your mid-length to ends. Leave it for 30 minutes and go for mild shampoo to flaunt your smooth, shiny hairs.
- Apply some herbal oil and always tie hairs in a bun or in a braided ponytail form or you can wear head-bands to look smart on that day. Keeping hairs open is like that you are sending an invite for colours and germs in it.
- Try to avoid to visit crowdy places as it is not safe.
- Hydrate yourself by drinking coconut water, juices and fruits.
We can feel the festive vibes in air, but Holi need to be play with all above mentioned hair -care ideas.
