I came up with second new energetic recipe with some twist as all in my recipes you came to know later on. I hope some of you tried my previous dish vegetables oats chilla. If you have not, go and do not miss to make this healthy version of chillas.
Laddus are loved by everyone especially kids. So, I am adding just one more ingredient in all to make it healthier and can be kids snack box too as well. Oats and coconut are main king of this recipe.

- Weight loss persons can also enjoy it in limit without any guilt.
- It can be served as desserts after main meal of the day.
- It gives instant energy and satisfy kids sweetness cravings.
- Oats contain fibre called beta-glucan and helps to lower cholesterol levels.
- Oats laddus can be stored in an air tight container for up to a week.
- These are made with nutritious combination of oats, coconut, dates, jaggery and nuts.
- Jaggery boosts iron level.
Recipe: –
Preparation time: -8 minute
Cooking time: – 5 minute
Total time: -13 minute
Number of laddus: -4 oats ball and one chocolate laddus
Meal: – Snack, dessert
Tag: – Energy ball, treat for kids
Ingredients: –
- One cup of rolled or quick oats
- Half cup (approx. 100gm) of grated coconut
- Few dates
- One-piece jaggery
- Chopped nuts (like almonds, pista etc.)
- Pinch of cinnamon
- Half spoon of chia seeds (skip for kids)
- One piece of chocolate
- 1 tablespoon of ghee
Procedure: –
- Dry roast oats with one spoon of ghee on low flame till it changes to light brown for 3-4 minutes.
- Slightly roast chopped nuts. Grind it to get powder, set aside it to cool and transfer in a bowl.
- Pre-soak dates in warm water for 5 minutes so that its paste can be easily made.
- Add pinch of cinnamon, half spoon of chia seeds and grated coconut.
- Grind date by adding 1 spoon water to get in paste form.
- Melt jaggery by adding water in a pan on low flame and continuously stir it for 5 minutes.
- Add 1 spoon of melted ghee in a bowl according to servings of it.
- Mix all ingredients well and grease hands with some ghee to make laddus easily.
- Coat laddus with coconut powder and few with melted chocolate.
My experience: –
As my daughter came from school, she saw with big surprise on her face and ate chocolate laddu and simply say one-word WOW! My work worth of my cost after listening that and all my other family members enjoy it a lot.
Notes: –
- If the mixture is dry, add some ghee before shaping them.
- For garnishing add Choco chips, gems to make it more appealing.
It is best to give some sweet treats to kids in form of energy balls and my goal is to share recipes which can be eaten by every age group.
